What Licence is required for my rental?
Buses up to 28 Seats require an Light Rigid (LR) Licence. Buses with 29 Seats or more require an Medium Rigd (MR) Licence.
Can I drop off the bus early?
Yes, of course. We offer an early drop off service, however, you are still accountable for the bus until it is inspected and received by one of our team members.
Where am I allowed to drive?
Any sealed roads approved for heavy vehicles throughout Australia.
Can you offer a mine-specification bus?
Yes! We work with many partners, including mine sites to meet their requirements. Please contact our office with further information of your requirements. We look forward to meeting your needs.
Can I use another person’s Credit Card to pay for my rental?
Yes, another person’s credit card may be used provided that prior written consent of the card holder is submitted to and approved by Red Rentals. The credit card holder must complete a ‘Credit Card Authority Form’ and return this prior to the commencement of the vehicle hire for approval.
Your booking will not be confirmed until such time as the Form has been processed and approved.
Oops, I had an accident, what do I do?
If you have an accident, regardless of how big or small, you must Contact Us within 24 hours of the incident. It is vitally important that you get as much information as possible from any third parties: including a copy or photo of their driver’s licence, the damage sustained to both vehicles, contact numbers, details of the time and location of the accident, and a fully summary of what happened.
You must also fill out the ‘Accident Reporting Form’, which provide you a copy of when you hire the bus.
How do I pay?
When you collect the vehicle, the cost of the rental agreement will be charged to you in full. A bond is also charged at time of rental and will be refunded to you if the vehicle is returned undamaged and in the same condition pre-hire.
What about tolls?
Yes, your rental vehicle is fitted with an ‘Toll Tag’ permitting travel on all toll roads. At the end of your rental period, you will be charged for any toll road usage incurred.
Can I pick up and/or drop off at Airports?
Yes, your rental vehicle is fitted with an ‘Airport Tag’ permitted pick up and drop offs at airports. At the end of your rental period, you will be charged for any use of Airport facilities.
Do I need to return the vehicle full of fuel?
Yes, it is your responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is full of fuel. This includes Ad-Blue for selected vehicles. Should this not occur, we will fill the vehicle and recharge the full amount used to you (at our standard rates).
What is Ad-Blue?
Most heavy vehicles use ‘Ad-Blue’ fluid to suppress harmful exhaust emissions. Ad-Blue is available at most service stations and is completely separate to diesel fluid.
Please take care not to confuse Ad-Blue for Diesel fuel – this is very important.
Is there a minimum age for rental drivers?
All drivers need to be over the age of 21 years of age to comply with our insurance coverage.
What are the terms and conditions of hire?
The full terms and conditions of hire will be provided to you before a vehicle is hired. This agreement must be completed before pick up.
What about a luggage trailer?
We have fully enclosed luggage trailers available for rental. Please ask us for availability and hire rates.
Why do the ‘Daily Rates’ vary and will they change when I book?
Daily rates fluctuate due to seasonal shifts, holiday periods, availability of vehicles, and supply and demand. Once you have made your booking in advance, your rate will not change.
Can I extend the rental period?
Yes, extension of the rental period is possible at time of check out, or during the rental period itself. A minimum 48-hours notice must be given for any extension request. Such extension is subject to vehicle availability and additional payment.
Please Note: It is often difficult to extend rentals during peak periods. Please consider this when making your initial booking to avoid disappointment
How many ‘free’ kilometres are included each day?
Each hire agreement has 400km included ‘free’ each day. Please note vehicles are only permitted on sealed roads suitable for heavy vehicle usage.
What happens if I receive a fine during my hire?
The hirer is responsible for any fines, fees and charges incurred (e.g. traffic infringements). In such an event, a Statutory Declaration will be submitted to the relevant authority nominating you (the hirer) as the driver of the vehicle. Please Note: An administration fee is charged for this process and will be debited from your credit card at the time of processing.
How will I know my reservation has been confirmed?
At the end of the online booking process your booking request will be submitted to us. Once your 5% booking deposit has been charged and your booking has been approved, you will receive a booking confirmation containing the pickup procedure. This process is usually completed within 24 hours of you submitting your booking request.
What about insurance?
Standard excess is $2200. This can be reduced from a excess of $2200 to $550 for a cost of $22/day or $30 a day to zero excess.
